C. B. Newton Society

Established in 1992, the C.B. Newton Society is named in honor of Pingry's beloved headmaster Charles Bertram Newton (1920-1936). The C.B. Newton Society was created to recognize those who have made a financial commitment to Pingry's future through a planned gift.

Pingry is proud to responsibly steward the School’s fiscal resources and recognizes the need for a strong endowment to keep pace with increasing operating and capital expenses. Planned gifts play a vital role in maintaining the School's financial strength and in ensuring the quality of the Pingry education and experience for future generations of students.

Thank you for your loyalty to and support of Pingry. We are eager to know if you have made a provision in your estate plan, or if you are thinking about this initiative, so that we may warmly thank you in person and answer any of your questions.

We look forward to hearing from you and invite you to contact:

“Members of the C.B. Newton Society have a true passion for The Pingry School and its students. They feel a personal commitment to the school and the faculty who cared about every student and provided a wonderful educational experience for them. It is important to our members, and I hope to you, that the same opportunity will always be available for future generations of Pingry students.”
—Edward S. Atwater IV ’63, Honorary Trustee, C.B. Newton Society Chair

“The most important part of my experience,” says Tom, “was getting to know the teachers. To me, the teachers create the soul of the School—they provide continuity as each class comes through Pingry, and they perpetuate the culture of excellence and honor at the School.”
—Thomas Diemar ’96

“I decided that I would leave a portion of my estate to Pingry. It’s my way of thanking the School for the excellent education I received—and since the biggest mistake people make is to put off planning their estates, I decided to make that gift years ago.”
—John Boffa ’74

We invite you to Meet Our Donors to learn more about their stories.
